Intentionally Planning Your Wedding Day

Intentionally Plan Your Wedding Day and Make it Uniquely You

Are you ready to plan the wedding of your dreams? It can be an exciting but intimidating task with so much to consider, but don’t worry – we’ve got your back! Here are some tips on intentionally planning your wedding to make it a fun, unique experience.

1. Establish Your Budget and Prioritize

It’s important to know how much you’re willing to spend on the wedding day, so you can prioritize the things that are most important to you. For some, it’s the flowers. For others, it may be the venue or catering. Some thing will be a lower priority. These are things that you can DIY, or leave them out entirely. What you don’t want is to spend so much on less important items, only to realize later there’s no money for the details you really want.

2. Choose a Unique Venue or Location

When selecting the right location for your ceremony and reception, consider what fits your aesthetic vision for the celebration. Pick something that means something to you and your fiance. Think outside of the box! It doesn’t always have to be at a traditional venue. Some couples have ceremonies on outdoor public land. Some have it in a museum, or a historic mansion. There are so many spaces that can make a great wedding venue, with a little creativity.

3. Research Vendors and Use a Planner

Spend some time researching reputable brands in advance to get the best quality products while staying within budget. You may want to use a wedding planner. Planners are a great way to find the best vendors that will be able to execute on your vision. They can help with the whole process and make the planning and execution so much less stressful for you!

4. Be Careful with Trends

Wedding trends can be so fun! Each year brings new and innovative ways to make a wedding incredible. But one thing we’ve noticed is too many weddings follow trends, but lose sight of what makes them special. This means they miss out on memories that really show who they are. If a wedding trend really resonates with you, go for it! But it’s OK to not be on top of the trends, if it’s not for you. Be intentional with the trends you follow.

5. Use Traditions that Serve You

Similar to trends, not every tradition is right for every couple. Just because it’s tradition doesn’t mean you have to do it! If if it’s not for you, cut it out. Within the same vein, don’t be afraid of the traditions that you really enjoy! This is your day, so don’t worry too much about what others want for your wedding. Let them in on you and your partner’s intentional wedding plan, and ask them to help make it happen!

6. Add Personal Touches

Think about your hobbies, your passions, and the things that make you unique! How can you incorporate that into the wedding day? There are so many ways to make your wedding unique with details that reflect your personality. Custom Invitations, signature cocktails/drinks, unique entertainment options (like a live band, or karaoke), and unique decor all add meaningful touches. These are the things you and your guests will remember that made it fun and unique experience.

7. Utilize a Timeline

A wedding planner and a good photographer will help you get your timeline dialed in. This ensures all of the events that are most important to you, have a time and place. Along with having a timeline, it’s best to delegate tasks beforehand. Make sure your bridal party, wedding vendors, and family are all on the same page with your vision, and how they’re going to help make it happen. Make sure that your timeline has breaks built in! A wedding day can be very stressful, but you will need time to breathe! Breaks allow to decompress some, and really enjoy your day.
